am very disappointed with the City of Corpus Christi and their handling of access to North side Packery Channel. It's only THE MOST POPULAR destination of any Corpus Christi beach.
BUT....to get there, you have to drive to the second access road, because Zahn Rd has been closed for about a year (it seems), and then travel back south. The biggest problem with taking the second access road isn't the extra time, or distance, or gas. It's the fact that during high tide, there are usually areas where the saltwater has collected that you must drive through. Can you say RUST?
OR, people have started driving from the boat launch area, through usually soft sand. There were a ton of people that had to be pulled out in all that soft sand, including me...technically, I'm sure it's illegal because you either drive over a small sand dune (illegal) or have to travel a short distance on the actual concrete-topped jetty rocks (I assume its illegal).
Any thoughts?

It is supposed to re-open Memorial Day Weekend...
But you know that the cops will direct traffic in a backward manner like they did during Spring Break...
It is a problem with the way they grate the roads too... the way they do it keeps the beach flat and there is no slope to stop the tide from washing to the dunes.

That sucks for y'all to have to drive through salt water when all they prolly gatta do is move some sand out the way. Didn't we just vote on this last year? That access to the beach should be open to the public. I wish the best for y'all, and I'll be down there soon and I don't wanna get stuck
